In These Hills

We have much to memorialize and celebrate at the Mine Wars Museum in 2017. This year marks the 30th anniversary of John Sayles’ film, Matewan and Denise Giardina’s novel Storming Heaven. We are also fast approaching the centennial of events such as the Battle of Matewan and the Battle of Blair Mountain. Preliminary plans for commemorating these events are already underway.
